(PUAFER005) Operate as part of an emergency control organisation
Around two decades ago workplace the health and safety industry found that many organisations weren’t adequately prepared for emergencies. Therefore, many businesses (PCBU) may not be providing a safe working environment for their employee. Thus they may be failing to fulfil their duty of care to employees.©️
Emergency fire warden training has become one aspect of preparedness for emergencies, which is legislated in health and safety regulations (see below an example of legislation). Furthermore, it provides occupants of facilities (businesses) with the skill to help keep all occupants safe.©️
The goal is to fill the effective response gap between an emergency occurring and the emergency services arriving on the scene. Emergency fire wardens and their qualified actions can be the difference between others remaining safe and being injured or worse.
